Evening lecture: Earth’s magnetic field research at the GFZ – a journey from the Earth’s core to outer space

On 12 May, the GFZ Friends invite you to an exciting evening lecture at Café Freundlich! Dr Monika Korte (Head of Section 2.3 | Geomagnetism) will take us on a journey from the Earth’s core to outer space and explain everything about Earth’s magnetic field research at the GFZ.

The Earth’s magnetic field is generated deep within the Earth and, in the form of the magnetosphere, acts as an important protective shield for our habitat. The lecture provides an overview of interesting facts, new findings and current research topics at the GFZ concerning various aspects of the Earth’s magnetic field. We look forward to an exciting evening with you, which we can round off together on the terrace! Café Freundlich will be serving snacks and drinks on a pay-as-you-go basis.

When: 12 May, 5 pm

Where: Café Freundlich
